KYOTO XANADU -the Blooming Phantom-

KYOTO XANADU -the Blooming Phantom- is an action RPG from Nihon Falcom, published in Asia with Clouded Leopard Entertainment. It was released on Steam on January 15, 2026 and costs $54.99. It shares a world with Tokyo Xanadu from 2015 but tells a completely new story.

How it plays

The setting is a modern Japan where Kyoto is the capital. Young people awaken with special gifts and travel to Xanadu, another world full of labyrinths and monsters. You play Kamiya Rei, who transfers to Hirasaka Academy, a school devoted to conquering Xanadu, and fight alongside his companions. It is single player with full controller support.

The good side

Steam reviews are Very Positive, about 82 percent from more than 800 reviews. Falcom is known for strong combat, likeable casts and great music. Since the story is original, you do not need to have played Tokyo Xanadu.

The watch-outs

The most important fact for many readers: there is no English. The Steam version supports Japanese, Korean and Chinese only. The review count is still small. No detailed PC requirements are published. At $54.99 it is priced like a major release.

For players in Asia

This release is made for our region. Japanese and Korean have full audio, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese are supported in text. Players who read one of those languages can enjoy it now, without waiting for a Western version.
