Loftia: Overview

By Camille Garcia · Updated

Loftia is a cozy MMORPG made and published by Qloud Games. It is set across floating islands in the sky, where players build a slower, greener life together in a shared world that grows over time.

How it plays

You create your character, claim a floating island and link it with other players to form neighborhoods. Farming leans on sustainable methods such as hydroponics, aquaponics and trellis farming, and tools are crafted with energy from the sun, wind and rain. Outside the city you scavenge abandoned factories, solve puzzles and join group quests in different biomes. You can rescue and adopt animals, from capybaras to turtles, and dress them up. Community projects let everyone add to shared builds that unlock new resources, stories and islands.

The good side

Loftia has a demo on Steam and one of the longest language lists we see on an indie MMO. The minimum PC spec is modest: 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1050 class card. The official site says the in-game shop sells optional cosmetics.

The watch-outs

It starts in Early Access at $29.99, with a 17% launch discount, so this is a paid game that also has a cosmetics shop. Steam does not list a single player mode, and a broadband connection is required. Controller support is listed as partial, and Intel Macs are not supported.

For players around the world

Loftia comes to PC and Mac through Steam, and the official site says a Nintendo Switch version is planned for 2027. Steam lists English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Thai. Early Access opens on 3 November 2026 at 10:00 AM PT and 1:00 PM ET in the US, 6:00 PM GMT and 7:00 PM CET in Europe, and 2:00 AM on 4 November in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei (GMT+8), 3:00 AM in Tokyo and Seoul. The official pages do not name server regions, though the site mentions regional pricing.

NEXTARCA's take

Loftia is aimed at players who want a calm, social MMO built around farming and decorating rather than combat. The language list is a real plus for a worldwide audience. We still need to see how much there is to do once your island is built, and where the servers are.
