Chrono Studio has brought in outside help for the biggest complaint from Chrono Odyssey's closed beta. In Developer's Notes #6, posted on Steam on September 22, 2026, the team says it has partnered with Quasar Zone, a Korean IT and hardware community known for PC benchmarking, to test the MMORPG on a much wider range of systems.

The note does not include a release date or a new test date. It is a progress report on how the game runs on PC.

Why performance comes first

According to the developer, frame drops and crashes were among the most common problems players raised during the June 2025 closed beta, and the game sometimes struggled even on powerful PCs. The studio describes stable performance across a wide range of hardware as "a key priority" for the team.

Testing with Quasar Zone covers frame rate stability, rendering performance and other factors that change from one PC configuration to the next. The goal is to find bottlenecks and other issues before they reach players.

Clearer system requirements are planned

Publisher Kakao Games gave more detail when it announced the partnership. Quasar Zone is checking compatibility and performance with its own hardware test program, Game Ready. The two companies plan to set performance benchmarks tied to resolution, graphics settings and target frame rates, then use that data to revise the official minimum and recommended specs. Entry-level PCs and handheld gaming PCs are included in that work.

For players, that could mean requirements that show what a given PC can realistically run, instead of a single list of parts. Kakao Games has not said when the revised requirements will be published.

Other work in progress

Beyond optimization, the developer lists character movement and animation, input response, controls and UI/UX as areas still being reworked. Earlier developer notes on Steam covered part of this ground, including changes to combat and movement and the new Matrix System for class progression. The team says it will share more in future updates.

When Chrono Odyssey launches

Chrono Odyssey is planned for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Kakao Games' latest release schedule still lists the game for 2027, without a specific date, and no new beta has been announced. The revised system requirements are the next concrete step the publisher has promised.
