Cygnus Cross has laid out what players get when Emberville enters Early Access on Steam on October 27. In the studio's Early Access post, it confirms a PC only launch at $29.99 USD with a 10% launch discount, a promise of no microtransactions, and a first content update planned within a month.

What is in Early Access
The launch build covers the first of the game's biomes. The full plan is nine biomes, added over the course of Early Access. On day one you get story and exploration, combat, a class system for character growth, town rebuilding, and crafting and building. The prologue, the same one found in the Steam Next Fest demo, runs about 90 minutes on average, and the whole Early Access build holds about 180 minutes of voice acted scenes.
The studio gives a rough playtime range: 7 to 10 hours if you rush, 15 to 20 hours for an average run, and 20 to 30 hours or more if you dig in, with crafting and building fans going longer. It admits the real number is hard to pin down until more people play.
Early Access is single player only. English has full voice acting, interface and subtitles. Spanish (Spain), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese have interface and subtitles only.
Price, platform and launch time
- Platform: PC on Steam. Console versions are planned for 1.0.
- Price: $29.99 USD, or $26.99 with the 10% launch discount. The post does not say how long the discount lasts, and regional prices may vary.
- Monetization: no microtransactions, battle passes, subscriptions or paid DLC. Content after 1.0 is promised as regular updates.
- Saves: progress from the Next Fest demo carries over. Saves from the earlier creator and press preview do not.
- Launch time: none is given yet for Asia, Europe or the US.
The minimum PC spec is modest: 64 bit Windows 10 or later, an Intel Core i5 at 3.2 GHz or equivalent, 8 GB of RAM, and at least 4 GB of space on an SSD.
What comes next
The first update is planned within the first month after launch. It should add the final boss of Biome 1, better controller support, more languages, bug fixes and a public roadmap. Controller play works at launch for combat and menus, but the studio says it is not yet where it wants it, and there is no on-screen keyboard. Co-op, console releases and modding support, which is still being scoped, are aimed at 1.0, with no date for any of them.
NEXTARCA's take
This is the kind of pre-launch post more Early Access games should write. It tells you the price, what is missing and which saves survive, a week before you have to decide. The catch is that Biome 1 launches without its final boss, so the opening chapter does not fully close until the first update lands.
For action RPG players the sensible route is clear: play the demo now, since that progress carries over. If the combat and class system grab you in the prologue, $26.99 is a fair price for a 15 to 20 hour opening. If you want co-op or a controller first experience, waiting for the first update makes more sense.
