FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE unlocks at local midnight on October 22 on PlayStation 5, from Sydney and Tokyo first to the US last. Here are the times for every region.

FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches on October 22, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. On PlayStation 5 it does not unlock at one moment for everyone: the PlayStation Store opens it at midnight local time in each region, so players in Australia and Asia get it first and players in the Americas get it last.
Below are the PlayStation 5 unlock times for every store we checked, what the other stores say, and what to sort out before launch day.
PlayStation 5 unlock times by region
These come from the PlayStation Store listing for the standard edition in each region, for example the Singapore store page. Each one is midnight at the start of October 22 in that store's own time zone.

In other words, a player in Sydney can start about fifteen hours before a player in New York. The Digital Deluxe Edition unlocks at the same time as the standard edition: it adds the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack of in-game items, not early access.
Steam, Xbox and Nintendo Switch
The Steam page lists October 22 but no time, and Square Enix has not posted a PC unlock time on Steam yet. We found no stated time for the Xbox or Nintendo Switch versions either. If one is announced before launch, we will add it here with the times for each region.
Before you play
A free demo is on Steam, and its save moves over to the full game, so you can start the story now and keep your progress. On Steam in the US the standard edition costs $49.99, and prices differ by region. The game has full voice acting in English, Japanese and Korean, with text in French, German, Spanish and both forms of Chinese as well.

The local midnight launch on PlayStation 5 is good news for anyone outside the US: nobody in Asia or Europe has to wait for an American release hour. If you are on the fence, play the demo tonight. It covers enough of the turn based battles and the HD-2D look to tell you whether this is your kind of FINAL FANTASY, and none of that time is wasted if you buy.
