Keen Games has shared the full changelog for Enshrouded 1.0, one day before the survival action RPG leaves Early Access. In the studio's Steam announcement, posted on 14 October, the team says release is "tomorrow", which puts 1.0 on 15 October. The post does not give a release hour, and it also promises a release trailer for launch day.

What 1.0 adds

The headline change is a finished world. A new region in the north, Cinder's Cradle, completes the map with a lava wasteland underneath and floating islands above it. Two more Hollow Halls open in the Albaneve Summits and the Veilwater Basin, and the outer edges of the Springlands, Blackmire and Kindlewastes gain new areas with quests and extra Shroud Roots.

The main story also reaches its end in this version. Keen Games says the secrets of the Ancients and the Shroud are revealed, though the Shroud and the Fell are still a threat afterwards.

  • Progression: the level cap rises to 50, and gear can be upgraded to level 55.
  • Magic: nine new spell types, plus a version of every spell that never runs out of charges.
  • Enemies: 37 new enemy variants, 14 of them from the Cinder's Cradle faction, with smarter pathing.
  • Building: Sparkworks, a logic system for wiring up switches, traps, puzzles and arenas in your base.
  • Voice: lore notes are now narrated in English, German and Chinese, and quest givers have voice-over.

Wands get a heavy attack and a free aim mode, skeleton companions arrive through new Necromancy gems and skills, and fishing has been reworked so any fish can be caught anywhere with the right bait and rod.

What returning players should know

Two notes matter before you load an old world. Your skill tree resets the first time you play a save in 1.0, so every point has to be spent again. Saves from version 0.8 or earlier are also backed up and moved to a new, smaller save format automatically.

Custom key bindings reset with the update too, so check your controls before heading into a fight. The changelog also lists a nerf to the Albaneve Summits boss and a wider loot pickup radius with an optional auto collect.

What is still not stated

The post is a Steam announcement and does not name other platforms or give an unlock time for any region. The official website links to Steam and PS5 store pages, but the post itself does not confirm a console release date for 1.0. The post does not mention any price change for launch, and prices vary by store region.

NEXTARCA's take

This is a big drop, and the parts that matter most for RPG players are the story ending and the jump to level 50. Many people parked Enshrouded during Early Access waiting for a finished arc, and that wait is now over. The skill tree reset is the right call with this many skill changes, but it will still feel like a chore for anyone with a long running character.

If you are coming back, plan an evening to rebuild your character and relearn your bindings before you push into Cinder's Cradle.
