Greengage Games, a newly founded independent studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark, has revealed Last Reach, its debut third-person action-adventure RPG. The game is now listed on Steam and available for players to add to their wishlists, although a release date has not yet been announced. Steam currently identifies Greengage Games as both developer and publisher and lists Last Reach for Windows PC.
Last Reach puts players in control of a druid fighting against a corruption spreading through a dying world. Its most distinctive idea is not simply the character class, but how character progression is tied directly to restoring a place called the Grove. According to the announcement, decisions about what grows there determine which druid powers become available during combat.
The Grove doubles as Last Reach's progression system
Rather than separating the player's base from the traditional skill tree, Last Reach connects the two.
The Grove is built around two forms of resonance called Vigor and Bane. Players cultivate different plants within it, and those choices determine which types of abilities their druid can use. Steam describes the same relationship between the Grove and the player's combat setup, making restoration part of character building rather than simply an environmental objective.
That creates an interesting connection between exploration, preparation, and combat. What players choose to develop before an encounter may influence the tools available when facing enemies and bosses.
The announcement also describes combat as skill focused and demanding, with difficult encounters requiring preparation rather than relying solely on character statistics. Boss fights are specifically mentioned as part of that challenge.
Player choices can alter the Grove and its power
Last Reach also connects its progression mechanics to player decisions.
Interactions involving humans, creatures, and enemies can affect the Grove, which in turn changes the player's available power. Greengage Games is framing these decisions without a simple good or evil structure. Instead, choices are intended to carry consequences for the environment and the player's path through the game.
Steam currently categorizes Last Reach under Action, Adventure, and RPG, while its community tags include Action RPG, Dark Fantasy, Third Person, Choices Matter, Exploration, Combat, and Nature. The store lists the game as a single-player experience.
This combination gives Last Reach a clearer identity than simply another dark fantasy RPG. Its core hook appears to be the feedback loop between rebuilding the Grove, deciding how its ecosystem develops, and carrying the resulting abilities into combat.
Last Reach has no release date yet
Greengage Games has not announced when Last Reach will launch. Steam currently shows its planned release date as To be announced, and Windows is the only confirmed platform on the official store listing. No PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo version has been announced.
The Steam page currently supports English interface text, subtitles, and full audio. It also includes a developer disclosure stating that some images and sounds used in the game were created with assistance from AI.
Players interested in following development can add Last Reach to their Steam wishlist now. Greengage Games has also released an official trailer alongside the reveal.
With the game's release timing still unannounced, the next major details to watch for are a launch window, additional platform confirmation, and a deeper look at how Vigor, Bane, and the Grove interact across a full character build.
