Grinding Gear Games has opened registration for the full release of Path of Exile 2, which launches as a free to play game on December 11 (Pacific time). In the studio's registration post, it says the community has already reached two milestones, so everyone who signs up will receive two cosmetic effects when the game launches.

How registration works

You sign up at pathofexile2.com/register with an email address. Then you open the confirmation email from Grinding Gear Games and click the button inside it. The sign-up only counts once it is confirmed, so check your inbox if the email does not show up straight away.

The studio says the more people register, the more rewards the whole community receives, so further milestones are possible. The post does not name the two cosmetic effects, give the number of sign-ups needed for each milestone, or say how many milestones there are in total.

Early Access owners are not covered automatically

This is the detail most likely to catch current players out. Buying Early Access does not grant these rewards on its own. If you already play Path of Exile 2 and want the cosmetics, you need to register and confirm your email like everyone else.

Dates and what is still unknown

Registration runs until December 11, launch day. Grinding Gear Games set that date in August, when it said the game would leave Early Access as a fully free to play action RPG. Both posts give the date in Pacific time (PST) only. No launch time is stated yet, so the exact date and hour for players in Asia, Europe and the US are not confirmed either.

The registration post does not name platforms. Before launch, the studio also holds ExileCon 2026 on November 7 and 8 (New Zealand time), streamed free on Twitch and YouTube, with announcements and developer talks planned.

NEXTARCA's take

Registration drives are usually easy to ignore, but this one has a real trap. The people most invested in Path of Exile 2, its Early Access buyers, are exactly the ones who might assume they are already covered. They are not. It takes a minute, so do it now rather than finding out on launch day that a friend has an effect you missed.

The bigger story is still the move to free to play. Dropping the entry price should bring a wave of new players into an action RPG that takes real effort to learn. ExileCon in November is the most likely place for the studio to show what the full release adds and how it plans to welcome them.
