Everything XLGAMES has shared about ArcheAge Chronicles that NEXTARCA has reported, in one place and newest first: how PvP channels work, the buy to play plan with no in game store at Early Access launch, progression through trait points earned from bosses, the Partner Creator Program, the Early Access content plan and the new Brazil server.

For our hands on view, read our ArcheAge Chronicles demo impressions. The Steam Next Fest demo dates and times are in our demo article.

October 24, 2026: ArcheAge Chronicles Adds a Brazil Server, Listed Under NA in the Server Menu for Now

XLGAMES has added a server in Brazil to ArcheAge Chronicles, answering requests from players in the region. According to the studio's notice on Steam, the new server shows up under the NA category in the server selection menu for the time being, because of the way it was set up as a temporary measure. The machine itself is physically in Brazil.

What was announced

The notice is short. XLGAMES says the server was added so players in the region can enjoy smoother and more comfortable play, and it thanks the community for the feedback that led to it. It does not say when the listing will move out of the NA category, whether the server will get its own region label later, or whether it will stay online after the current demo.

Where it fits with the other servers

Before the demo started, producer Ham's letter on Steam listed the demo servers: North America East and West, Central Europe, and East and South Asia. The same letter said the demo has no regional restrictions, so players in South America could already join, just with a longer trip for their connection. The Brazil server fills the biggest gap on that list.

Because it sits under NA in the menu, players in Brazil and nearby countries should look there rather than for a separate South America entry. The notice does not explain how to tell it apart from the two North American servers, so read the server names carefully before you create a character.

How long you can use it in the demo

The Steam Next Fest demo runs until October 26 at 10:00 AM PDT. That is 1:00 PM in New York (EDT), 2:00 PM in Sao Paulo (BRT), 5:00 PM in London (GMT) and 6:00 PM in Central Europe (CET) on October 26, then 1:00 AM on October 27 in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei (GMT+8) and 2:00 AM in Seoul and Tokyo (GMT+9).

The demo offers two to three hours of quests, all four classes (Warrior, Ranger, Berserker and Mage), an early PvP channel and the Throne of Hinnon dungeon. XLGAMES has not given a start date for Early Access.

October 22, 2026: ArcheAge Chronicles Video Outlines Early Access Content, Planned Updates and Pricing Approach

XLGAMES has posted a new video in which Executive Producer Ham explains what ArcheAge Chronicles will contain in Early Access, what the team plans to change afterwards, and why it chose to sell the game as Buy-to-Play. The studio's announcement on Steam went up on October 21, while the Steam Next Fest demo is still running. The written post does not state an Early Access date or a price figure.

What Early Access will include

According to the post, Early Access will open three regions of Auroria, with hours of quests and adventures and a range of combat styles and activities. The Steam Next Fest demo, by comparison, offers four classes (Warrior, Ranger, Berserker and Mage), about two to three hours of quests, the Throne of Hinnon dungeon and an early PvP channel. Early Access is clearly meant to be a much larger slice of the world.

Changes planned after launch

The post says player feedback is shaping these plans:

  • Removing gender locks from classes.
  • More weapon variety.
  • Better combat balance and progression.

In his October 18 letter about the demo, Ham said extra gender options would arrive gradually, starting with select classes, and not in the demo itself. The new post now describes the goal as removing the locks, but it does not say when or for which classes first.

Why Buy-to-Play

The video has a section on why XLGAMES picked a Buy-to-Play model and how it set the Early Access price. That section runs about a minute, from 2:09 in a 6 minute 24 second video. The written post does not repeat the figure, and the game's Steam page still lists the release date as to be announced with no price shown. Earlier this month, on October 7, Ham released a separate video on the game's direction, including how the team is approaching monetization.

Dates and what is still unknown

The demo ends on October 26 at 10:00 AM PDT. That is 5:00 PM UTC: 6:00 PM in Central Europe (CET), 5:00 PM in London (GMT), 1:00 PM in New York (EDT), and 1:00 AM on October 27 in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei (GMT+8) and 2:00 AM in Seoul and Tokyo (GMT+9). XLGAMES has also posted a notice that some players see a black screen at launch, saying loading can take 5 to 10 minutes and asking players to wait before closing the game.

Not stated in the written post: the Early Access date, the platforms, the regions served at launch and a timeline for any of the planned updates.

October 18, 2026: ArcheAge Chronicles Names 26 Creators in Its Partner Creator Program Ahead of the Steam Demo

XLGAMES has picked the content creators for the ArcheAge Chronicles Partner Creator Program. The studio listed 26 names in its Partner Creators announcement on Steam, posted on 16 October. The timing lines up with the game's free Steam Next Fest demo, which opens a few days later.

Who was picked

XLGAMES named these 26 creators:

  • ChazPlaysGames, MaleOreo, 劍劍子, PvE Zone, Flannels, Theory Forge and ecosti
  • Taru Gaming, Ser Medieval, Azrial, EnchantressDani, impakt and Şeyma Özgür
  • 천하진 CHEONHAJIN, LaTaverneDePatatus, Resins, DeityVengy, Ulfhednar and Icekei
  • FrozenCloud, Nickky, Kentaro, YaBoiWiilly, Lipej, Drunge_ and FRESHY

The announcement does not say which platforms each creator streams or posts on, or how they were chosen beyond thanking everyone who applied.

What partner creators get

XLGAMES set out the perks in an earlier post when applications opened. Partners get an exclusive Discord role and channel, giveaway codes for themselves and their viewers, promotion through the Discord channel, and a support package with creative assets. That post gave no closing date for applications, and the new announcement does not say whether more creators will be added later.

The demo is where you will see them first

The most likely place to see these creators play is the Steam Next Fest demo. It is free, needs no sign up, and runs from 10:00 AM PDT on 19 October to 10:00 AM PDT on 26 October. Around the world, that means:

  • Opens: 1:00 AM on 20 October in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei (GMT+8) and 2:00 AM in Seoul and Tokyo; 7:00 PM on 19 October in Central Europe (CEST) and 6:00 PM in London (BST); 1:00 PM in New York (EDT) and 10:00 AM in Los Angeles (PDT).
  • Closes: 1:00 AM on 27 October in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei and 2:00 AM in Seoul and Tokyo; 6:00 PM on 26 October in Central Europe (CET, after the clocks change) and 5:00 PM in London (GMT); 1:00 PM in New York (EDT) and 10:00 AM in Los Angeles (PDT).

XLGAMES says the demo covers selected content around Diamond Shores, an early region, and is the first public build with PvP. Housing and trade are not in it, and progress will not carry over to Early Access. The Steam page still lists the release date as to be announced.

October 16, 2026: ArcheAge Chronicles Ties Trait Points to Bosses, Not Levels, Developer Post Explains

XLGAMES has explained how characters grow stronger in ArcheAge Chronicles. In a Steam post by Global Project Manager Don, the studio says weapon trait points do not come from levelling up. They come from Raeven's Coilstones, and every Coilstone sits near a powerful boss.

Levels and stats

Character level still works in a familiar way. Players start at level 1, and most EXP comes from quests, discoveries and points of interest rather than from killing monsters. Each level grants stat points to place across six stats: Strength, Agility, Constitution, Intelligence, Talent and Endurance. One point always adds one to a stat, and the character screen previews the result before you confirm. Talent is the unusual one: it helps magic attack and also lets you use better gear without penalties.

Weapon traits and where trait points come from

Each weapon type has its own trait tree. Most nodes are small stat gains, some add new skills, and some change how an existing skill behaves. The post uses the Greatsword as an example: one branch turns a skill into a wider two hit swing, while a defensive branch adds an attack you can use while guarding that also grants a shield.

Don writes that early versions tied traits to character level, and the team dropped that because it did not want grinding levels to be the answer to every hard fight. Other ways to grow include:

  • Nui Tears: taken to a Nui Statue to raise max HP, with each increase needing a few more tears than the last.
  • Treasure chests: each can be opened once per character, so players never race each other for them.
  • Field bosses: roaming enemies that drop gear, accessories and crafting materials found nowhere else.
  • Hersander's Tower: riddle offerings hidden in every zone. Completing a zone's set gives a unique accessory and opens the Hereafter Challenge, a timed fight against a stronger zone boss with a leaderboard.

When players can try it

The Steam Next Fest demo opens on 19 October at 10 AM PDT (1 PM EDT, 6 PM in London, 7 PM CEST), which is 1 AM on 20 October in Asia (GMT+8). It closes on 26 October at 10 AM PDT (1 PM EDT, 5 PM in London, 6 PM CET), which is 1 AM on 27 October in GMT+8. Those times are based on the times in the studio's earlier demo notice. It is free and needs no sign up. The new post says the demo adds a high level dungeon, Throne of Hinnon, and warns that it will not be an easy clear with the progression available in the demo. Dungeons take a party of up to four and can also be played solo.

XLGAMES says point costs, tree layouts and alternate skills may change with player feedback during Early Access. A September producer letter placed Early Access later this year, but no exact date or price is stated yet. Steam on Windows is the only platform listed so far.

October 8, 2026: ArcheAge Chronicles Developer Video Details Buy-to-Play Plans

XLGAMES has released a new ArcheAge Chronicles developer video outlining its buy-to-play model, with no in-game store planned for the Early Access launch. Released on October 7, 2026, the update features Executive Producer Yongjin Ham discussing the MMORPG’s gameplay direction and monetization plans.

The official developer video arrives ahead of a free Steam demo later this month. For players weighing a future purchase, the key distinction is between the store policy planned for launch and optional purchases the studio may introduce later.

What the purchase model means

According to XLGAMES’ accompanying announcement, ArcheAge Chronicles will require players to buy the game. Ham says character progression and competitive strength should come from playing, and the studio promises it will not sell pay-to-win items.

However, the absence of a store at Early Access launch does not establish a permanent policy against additional purchases. The announcement says XLGAMES is considering additional content, customization and convenience purchases after Early Access. If a store is introduced, the company says it will announce its timing and available items beforehand.

Those categories are still broad. Without an item list or details explaining what “convenience” would cover, players cannot yet assess how future purchases might interact with progression. The no-pay-to-win position remains a developer commitment whose implementation will need to be judged against the eventual offerings.

The Steam listing currently gives the release date as “To be announced” and does not display a purchase price.

Exploration and cooperation alongside action combat

Ham describes a game intended to support rewarding solo exploration as well as opportunities to cooperate with other players. XLGAMES says combat centers on reading enemy movements and deciding when to dodge, parry or attack.

The studio also describes gliding, underwater exploration, housing, life skills, crafting and trade as activities under development. These outline the intended breadth of the game, but players should distinguish that broader vision from what the upcoming demo contains.

What players can assess in the free demo

The demo is scheduled for October 19 through October 26, 2026, opening and closing at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Steam users will be able to participate without a separate application.

XLGAMES’ official demo announcement says housing and trade will be absent, and demo progress will not transfer to Early Access. NEXTARCA’s existing demo guide covers participation and local times.

That makes the demo useful for assessing combat and exploration before committing to a purchase. Players primarily interested in housing, trade or the long-term economy will still need further details and a build that includes those systems.

October 5, 2026: ArcheAge Chronicles PvP Is Opt In, With Separate Channels and Bonus EXP

PvP in ArcheAge Chronicles is a choice. XLGAMES says each zone is split into standard channels, where players cannot attack each other at all, and PvP channels, where almost everyone can. Creative Director Jay Lee laid out the rules in a developer post on Steam on October 4.

The rules in short

  • Channels of about 100: a zone is divided into separate copies, each holding around 100 players. The team calls that a design choice, since the servers handled full channels fighting at once during the September Network Test.

  • Standard channels: no player can attack another.

  • PvP channels: everyone can attack you except your party and guild members. The monsters and quests are the same.

  • Switching: you change channel type at a Nui Statue, and a cooldown stops you from escaping a losing fight.

  • Bonus EXP: monsters in PvP channels give 10 to 15% more EXP. The studio says the overall boost is modest and the numbers may change.

Dungeons and some points of interest are instanced for you or your party, so other players cannot interfere there.

What the demo includes

PvP channels are unlocked from the very start of the Steam Next Fest demo, with no story requirement. All four classes are playable, each with two of their weapons. There are no rewards for defeating another player yet, but the demo has a kill log and PvP achievements. Lee also mentions that ranged attacks can be parried and reflected back.

What may come later

Lee says rankings and trophies will likely arrive after launch as live updates. Further out, the team is discussing trade runs through PvP channels and guilds fighting over trade posts. He is clear that this is early planning and not a promise.

Why it matters

The original ArcheAge was known for open world conflict that players could not always avoid. This version keeps that conflict but puts it behind a switch, which should suit both players who want to quest in peace and those who want a fight.

There is still no release date. Platforms and details are on our ArcheAge Chronicles game page.

NEXTARCA's take

ArcheAge Chronicles is being shaped in public, and that is mostly a good thing. XLGAMES has explained its systems in plain terms, from opt in PvP channels to trait points earned from bosses, and it has responded to requests, adding a Brazil server and planning to remove class gender locks. What players still need is the part they care about most: an Early Access date and a price. Until those arrive, the demo and these developer notes are the best guide to whether the game is for you.
