Beast of Reincarnation Update 1.1.0 Adds Very Hard and Ruthless Modes

Beast of Reincarnation has a new way to hurt. PC update 1.1.0, the game’s seventh patch, adds two difficulty modes above Hard, including one where a single hit kills Emma. The team published the full patch notes on October 2, nearly two months after launch.

The new difficulty modes

• Very Hard: a step above Hard.

• Ruthless: Emma dies instantly from one hit. The team calls it a bonus challenge for fans.

Both modes, along with Hard, are now available in Reincarnation+, the game’s New Game Plus. Its default difficulty matches Normal. You can switch modes at any time during play, so trying Ruthless does not lock you into it.

Boss and combat changes

• Attack patterns for some Nushi variants have been overhauled.

• Some of Shidou’s attack patterns are updated, with more changes planned.

• Certain bosses and enemies that were easier than intended have been made harder.

• Ranged weapon damage against bosses is adjusted, along with the power of select Blade Arts Finishers and Bloom Arts.

Quality of life and fixes

Items dropped by enemies and items in the field can now be picked up automatically. The option sits under the Gameplay tab in Settings.

The patch also adds proper ultrawide support on the Skill Tree screen, fixes a Steam Deck problem where slow loading could drop the player into the void, and fixes several soft locks in menus, along with boss fights where attacks missed or characters got stuck in walls.
