Remedy’s new Control Resonant launch trailer combines aggressive close combat, a distorted Manhattan, and music from The Cardigans ahead of the action RPG’s September 24 release.

Remedy Entertainment has released the official Control Resonant launch trailer, delivering another concentrated look at Dylan Faden’s battle through a Manhattan reshaped by forces that no longer follow ordinary physical rules.
The trailer arrives one week before the game’s worldwide release on September 24, 2026. It combines rapid close combat, supernatural abilities, collapsing environments, and brief story exchanges with The Cardigans’ “My Favourite Game” driving the action.
It does not introduce a new release date or platform. Instead, the trailer serves as Remedy’s final major reminder of how different this sequel will be from the original Control.
Dylan Faden takes control of the crisis
Control Resonant moves Jesse Faden’s brother into the leading role. Dylan spent much of the first game under the influence of the Hiss, but the sequel places him at the center of a new supernatural emergency spreading across Manhattan.
Brief exchanges between Dylan and Zoe give the trailer a more personal edge. Their conversation focuses on saving the city and Dylan’s reasons for remaining in the fight, suggesting that his search for Jesse is only one part of the larger crisis.
Remedy has confirmed that Jesse is missing as the story begins. A new form of resonance is warping Manhattan alongside threats connected to the Hiss and the Mold, forcing Dylan into a role he was never prepared to accept.
The launch trailer keeps the exact nature of this new cosmic force hidden. It also avoids revealing Jesse’s location or how her disappearance connects to the continuing transformation of the city.
Manhattan becomes a close combat playground
The footage continues to emphasize the sequel’s aggressive combat direction. Dylan uses the Aberrant, a shape shifting melee weapon, alongside paranormal abilities that can interrupt enemies, control space, and create opportunities for powerful attacks.
This represents a major change from Jesse’s gun focused fighting style in Control. Resonant is being presented as an action role-playing game with greater emphasis on character builds, equipment choices, exploration, and close combat.
Rather than describing Manhattan as one continuous conventional open world, Remedy has divided it into large and visually distinct zones. These locations contain optional activities, hidden encounters, and discoveries outside the main story.
Players can also enter the Gap, a space within Dylan’s mind where abilities and the Aberrant can be upgraded. The Gap provides an area for testing builds and crafting Artifacts before returning to the altered city.
The result appears designed to give players more control over how Dylan fights without abandoning the environmental destruction and supernatural spectacle associated with Remedy’s earlier work.
Control Resonant arrives on September 24
Remedy has confirmed a September 24 worldwide release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. GeForce NOW support is also planned at launch.
A Mac version is scheduled to arrive later in 2026 through Steam and the App Store. Remedy has not announced an exact Mac release date.
On PlayStation 5, Performance mode targets 60 frames per second at 1440p, while Quality mode targets 30 frames per second at 2160p. Remedy’s official PlayStation 5 technical overview also confirms adaptive trigger support and compatible headset support for 3D Audio.
The launch trailer does not resolve the mystery surrounding Jesse or the force consuming Manhattan. Those answers remain part of Dylan’s journey when Control Resonant launches on September 24.
