Remedy Entertainment published its CONTROL Resonant Game Update 1.4.0 notes on Steam on October 1. The update introduces New Game++, allowing players to continue into further New Game+ runs without erasing their earlier progress. Remedy had previously said the feature was planned for October. (Earlier post launch plans)
The notes also move Build Power to the Loadout screen, add a notification when new purchases or upgrades are available in The Gap, and show on the map when pinned upgrade materials are sold by a Vendor. These changes make progression and upgrade tasks easier to track.
Players can expect a reduction of 10 to 15 percent in combat volume and intensity in the Unknown Zone. Assist Mode gains a setting to adjust Power Core Charge duration from 100 to 300 percent. A separate radio dialogue slider lets players balance audio between their speakers or headphones and the DualSense controller speaker.
The update notes also list PC performance improvements, crash fixes across all platforms, corrections to dialogue, subtitles and HDR, and support for Razer haptics. They include a setting to mute Apocalyptica’s “Upperhand” during the intro credits.
The Steam notes do not specify separate rollout timing or build numbers for each platform. Players should check their platform’s update client for availability.
