Com2uS has confirmed GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT as the official name of its upcoming console and PC adaptation, replacing the project’s former working title, GACHIAKUTA: The Game. The name was announced during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentation alongside the first trailer focused on complete gameplay scenes.
The survival action RPG is planned for a worldwide release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. An exact launch date has not been announced.
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT puts survival missions at its center
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT adapts the world and central story of the television anime into a three dimensional action RPG. Players follow Rudo, a young scavenger who is falsely accused of a crime and thrown into the Pit, a dangerous region filled with discarded objects, hostile outlaws, and creatures known as Trash Beasts.
Rudo’s journey brings him into contact with Enjin and the Cleaners. His ability to release the hidden value within discarded objects gives the game its foundation for character specific weapons and combat techniques.
According to the official store information, missions send players into polluted and restricted areas where they must defeat enemies, recover useful objects, and return safely to the Cleaners headquarters. Combat experience and recovered materials contribute to character development and provide access to expanded fighting styles.
The headquarters also functions as a progression space. Objects collected during missions can be used to customize and develop the base, while further expansion unlocks additional features. Com2uS also plans quieter interactions with other Cleaners between missions, giving the headquarters a role beyond equipment management.
Exploration will include hidden graffiti placed throughout the Pit. These collectibles connect naturally with the distinctive visual identity created for the original series by Kei Urana and graffiti designer Hideyoshi Andou.
The first trailer puts Zanka and Jabber in the spotlight
The newly released footage features Rudo, Enjin, Zanka, and Riyo using their individual weapons and fighting styles. Its longest combat sequence places the player in control of Zanka during a boss encounter with Jabber.
Zanka is shown avoiding repeated attacks before responding during brief openings. The sequence presents combat as an active exchange that rewards movement, timing, and pressure instead of relying entirely on automated character actions.
Com2uS is using cartoon inspired three dimensional rendering to preserve the pronounced outlines, color choices, and graffiti influenced presentation associated with the anime. The result is designed to keep recognizable character designs while allowing free movement and direct control during combat.
The footage establishes the intended speed and visual direction, but it is not a complete systems presentation. Com2uS has not yet detailed the full playable roster, difficulty structure, mission length, enemy variety, or the extent to which individual characters can be customized.
Solo and cooperative play are confirmed
The official Steam listing identifies both single player and multiplayer support, while the game description confirms real time cooperative play. That means players will have an option to enter at least some of the game’s hazardous areas together.
A maximum cooperative party size has not been announced. Com2uS has also not provided complete information about matchmaking, progression sharing, cross-progression, or how cooperative missions differ from solo play.
These details will be important because the announced structure extends beyond a straightforward sequence of anime battles. Recovering objects, improving characters, developing the headquarters, and returning to dangerous regions suggest a continuing mission cycle that could support repeated play.
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is targeting a global 2027 launch
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is scheduled to launch worldwide during 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. These are the only platforms confirmed in the official announcement.
Store pages are already available for prospective players, although Com2uS has not announced pricing, editions, preorder incentives, or a more specific release window. Official age ratings have also not been published.
The title reveal is a meaningful development because it moves the project beyond its temporary name and gives players the first substantial look at its playable combat. More importantly, the confirmed headquarters development, object recovery, character progression, and cooperative features indicate that the adaptation is being structured around an expedition and return cycle rather than serving only as a retelling of major anime encounters.
Com2uS says future development information will be released through the official game website and its social channels. The next updates will need to clarify the cooperative structure, playable roster, progression systems, and exact launch timing ahead of the planned 2027 release.
