Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered Demo Lets Players Try Hulao Gate

A free demo for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is available now on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam. It gives players one battle and six officers to try before the full game launches on October 1, 2026.

The playable scenario is Battle of Hulao Gate (Allied Forces). Players join Yuan Shao’s coalition against Dong Zhuo’s forces, choosing from Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Zhenji, Zhou Yu, and Sun Shangxiang. Koei Tecmo says meeting certain conditions during the battle can lead to an additional encounter near its end. Difficulty and language settings can also be adjusted.

The demo’s single scenario gives players a way to judge the combat and controls for themselves. Its six officers also provide a chance to see how different characters handle the same battle. It is a limited sample, so it cannot establish how the full roster or the game’s other modes will play.

The complete release combines Dynasty Warriors 3 with content from Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends. Koei Tecmo says more than 40 officers from the original roster return, alongside revised visuals, controls, and additional scenarios. The publisher has also confirmed that the full game includes offline play for two players.

There is a separate multiplayer detail worth keeping clear: Koei Tecmo has announced an online mode for two players as a later update. It has not given a release date for that update, and the announcement should not be read as confirmation that online play will be available at launch.

Where to get the demo

Players can find platform access through Koei Tecmo’s official demo page. Koei Tecmo’s demo announcement confirms the four platforms, playable officers, and October 1 release date.

For details on the full game beyond this trial, see NEXTARCA’s Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered game page. Koei Tecmo has not confirmed whether progress from the demo carries into the full release, so players should treat this as a chance to try Hulao Gate rather than a head start on October 1.
