DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered Is Out Now

One of the most loved entries in the musou series is back. DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered launches today, October 1, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam.

The console versions unlock at midnight local time, so players across Asia can start as soon as the date changes where they live. On Steam, the store page shows the exact unlock time for your region.

One package, two games

This release combines the original DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 with its Xtreme Legends expansion. That means the full Three Kingdoms campaign plus the expansion's extra stories for officers such as Lu Bu, Meng Huo and Yuan Shao, along with its challenge modes and bodyguard customization.

What the remaster changes

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force rebuilt the battlefields in Unreal Engine 5, with 40 playable officers on the roster. Combat gains new evasion and guard moves, and Weapon Fusion adds a new way to shape your gear. Classic Settings are included for players who want the game to feel closer to the 2001 original, and two-player split-screen returns for couch co-op.

On Switch 2, Omega Force is targeting 30 to 60 frames per second, with 1440p when docked and an upscaled 1080p image in handheld mode.

Price and editions

The Standard Edition is listed at $39.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition, at $69.99, adds 42 retro costumes based on the original game, 42 extra weapons for Weapon Fusion, bonus items and an officer concept art collection.

Online co-op is coming later

Online two-player co-op is not in the game at launch. Omega Force plans to add it in a free update in January 2027. Until then, co-op is local split-screen only.

The free demo that arrived on September 24 was the best way to test the new combat, and it is still worth trying if you are unsure. For longtime fans, the Complete Edition is the easiest way to replay the original and Xtreme Legends in one place. For newcomers, the Classic Settings and modern controls make this one of the friendlier ways into the series.
