Rumor: A New Transformers Game Is Reportedly in Development

A YouTube creator claims an unannounced Transformers game is in testing under a G1 license. Hasbro has confirmed nothing. Here is what the rumor says, what has happened since, and what the company has actually said about its plans.

A wide cinematic shot of a red, blue, and silver robot resembling Optimus Prime kneeling in a dark, metallic, industrial corridor. The robot is holding a large broadsword vertically with both hands, its tip resting on the ground. A bright, warm light spills from an opening in the background on the right, creating a stark contrast against the dimly lit, highly detailed mechanical surroundings.

Rumor: A new Transformers video game is said to be in development, but nobody with authority over the brand has confirmed it. The claim comes from YouTube creator RoboGamer1HD, who shared it in a video published on May 12, 2026. Hasbro has not announced the game, and no studio, title, genre or platform has been named. Everything in the next section is unverified.

What the rumor claims

According to Gameranx’s summary of the video, RoboGamer1HD said an unnamed company has picked up the rights to Generation 1 (G1) Transformers from Hasbro and is using them to make a game. He reportedly learned of the project through a call for testers, and said pre-registration would open in July 2026.

Tech4Gamers reported further claims attributed to the same video: that an agency in China has been sending playtest invitations under a non-disclosure agreement, and that the information was passed on by László Vén, another creator who covers Transformers games.

None of these reports cites a document, a store listing or a statement from Hasbro. Both Tech4Gamers and TheGamer advised readers to be cautious. NEXTARCA has not been able to verify any part of the claim independently.

What has happened since

July 2026 has come and gone. As of October 3, 2026, NEXTARCA has found no official announcement of a new, previously unknown G1 Transformers game.

One Transformers game did open pre-registration around that time: Transformers: Eternal War, a free mobile strategy RPG with a story by longtime Transformers writer Simon Furman. It is not a new project, though. Wanda Cinemas Games and Hasbro announced it in November 2024 for a 2025 release. It entered a regional soft launch in June 2026 in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the Philippines, and pre-registration was open by early August.

That timing sits close to the rumor’s July window, and Wanda Cinemas Games is a Chinese company. That is NEXTARCA’s observation only. No source has said the two are the same game, and the rumor described a title that had not been announced.

The worldwide launch date of Transformers: Eternal War is not settled either. Reports in late August pointed to a September 2026 release, but when NEXTARCA checked on October 3, the game’s App Store listing in the United States showed it as expected on November 12, 2026.

What Hasbro has confirmed

Hasbro does plan more Transformers games. In an interview with The Game Business published on May 19, 2026, chief executive Chris Cocks said the company’s own studios will be “building games mostly around D&D, Magic, Transformers,” and that the work will be “very focused on action-adventure and role-playing games for PC and console.”

The Game Business reports that Hasbro has spent nearly $1 billion on its video game business since 2018, building six studios and an internal publishing organization. The first two games from that effort, the science fiction RPG Exodus and the Dungeons & Dragons action adventure Warlock, are due in 2027. No Transformers game from those studios has been announced.

Why it matters to RPG players

The last big Transformers project for PC and consoles did not reach players. Splash Damage cancelled Transformers: Reactivate in January 2025, after announcing it in 2022.

If the rumored game exists, its genre is the open question for RPG players. Hasbro’s stated direction for its own studios favors action adventure and role playing games, but the rumor says nothing about how this game plays, and it describes a company licensing the brand, not one of Hasbro’s studios. Until something official appears, there is nothing for players to act on.

What is still unknown

  • Whether the rumored game exists as described

  • Its title, developer and publisher

  • Its genre and platforms

  • Whether the rumor was in fact about Transformers: Eternal War

  • Any release window

Hasbro has not commented publicly on the rumor. The only Transformers RPG with a store listing right now is Transformers: Eternal War on iOS and Android.
